Imagining More for Mason
And making it reality
When people think of Mason, they think of a city that leads the way in education, economy, and family life. Qualities that draw people from all over the state, the country and even the world to our community.
‘Imagine Mason’ has long been our brand - but it’s time we imagine more.
Today, I challenge you to think beyond what we imagine, and instead, boldly envision the full measure of our potential in making our vision reality.
Our community is our strength and it’s time we lead with that in mind.
Let the vision of what we can achieve as a community propel us toward the greatness we are capable of. Let’s dare to imagine more.

My Story
Service Driven, Community Focused
As a first-generation American, my journey is both personal and shared - marked by economic and social hardships that many families face. These challenges - and learning from how my parents navigated them - have given me a deep understanding of three things:
The impact opportunity has on shaping positive outcomes
The importance of service
The transformative power of community
From a young age, I watched my parents help others in desperate need. We brought people who needed shelter into our home. We fed our neighbors. My parents gathered and connected people with community resources. They did all this even in times of personal hardship.
Their example taught me that true leadership begins with service - and that we have a mutual responsibility to one another, as friends, as neighbors, and as community members.
They led with empathy, driven by the deeply rooted belief that community thrives together.
And that has carried over into my adulthood, my career and my desire to serve our community as part of Mason City Council.
My lifelong career of service has been centered on lifting up vulnerable populations. I’m deeply passionate about people - about building environments where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. I’ve had the opportunity to support veterans, survivors of domestic violence, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and those navigating mental health challenges to advocate for a culture of belonging, access, and agency.
When we allow people a seat at the table where they are truly heard,
empowered to speak for themselves, and not spoken for,
we create positive outcomes for all.
It is with this principle, I stand ready to serve, to listen, and to lead for the people of Mason.
